Printer rejecting card reader.

Question
We have a customer that is attempting to use our application on two of their printers, an IM 4500 and an IM 430, but the badge reader doesn't appear to be working. We pulled the logs off the printer and noticed a permission error.

We have other 4500 and 430 printers with card readers running our software that are able to badge without any problems, and so far all of the card reader settings on the printer appear to be correct. We also didn't see any other application that would be using the card reader as well. Are they any other settings on the printer that might interfere or block the card reader? I've attached the logcat files from the 4500 to the ticket.

The customer is facing "Unfortunately the ScanGui service has stopped" while scanning
Incident Properties
Question
Hi Ricoh Support,
When the customer using our application for scanning (Ricoh Unified Client), they got this error message: Unfortunately the ScanGui service has stopped.
They scan a lot of documents throughout the day, with single to huge number of pages. Every day, at least once, they get this error message while scanning. The issue occurs for all documents, single page to large number of pages. When they see this error on the MFP Panel, the screen freezes and they cannot do anything else. They need to reboot the MFP. It is very random and according to them, there is nothing specific that triggers the error.
I have found exceptions in the logs:

The customer is facing "print job cancelled due to print volume limitation" Error After device reboot
Incident Properties
Question
Hi Jverne,
I am creating this new ticket with reference to old closed ticket with Incident ID#: 5326. Please see my inline answers to your earlier questions below.
"The assumption is that this device has Custom User Authentication enabled, and this Custom Authentication implementation and the device are both configured to enable and enforce Print Volume Use Limitation. Please confirm."
Yes, I confirm this.
"Please reproduce the observed fault, making note of the wallclock times when the device was restarted, and when the job was invoked and failed. Then collect a single day of device logs and attach the raw tarfile to this ticket."
I got the device logs, but unfortunately our customer did not mention the device restart timings. The reproduction of issue was done at 09-06 15:37:00 and in logs you can see a error at 09-06 15:37:16.383.
"It is possible that a workaround could be to delete the user from the Address Book and reboot."
The customer has tried this and still faced the same issue.
Customer also confirmed this issue is reproduced even in the native print app of device. (Earlier we thought the issue was only in our app).
I have attached the logs zip file and screenshots of User Authentication Management and Print Volume Use Limitation.
Thanks,
Krishna

Incident Properties
Question
HI RiDP,
We have a customer reporting that the Ricoh UC application crashes when scanning Duplex and produces SC111-1 error on IM 550 device only.
Information:
- Only happens with Duplex scan. Simplex/one-side works normally.
- Only happens with IM 550 device. Other devices work normally.
- Native scan works normally.
I attached the device log.
Customer reproduced the problem around 12:55 p.m with username apinamar090418 on 6th August.

Access to SP mode
Incident Properties
Question
I had a question about being able to acess SP mode on the Ricoh printer. We are working with New York Presbyterian hospital and they have our app installed in SSO mode on the printer and our app is the authentication app. However, they need to give Ricoh techs access to the printers so they can get to SP mode and change some of the settings. In order to do this they have to have someone on standby to uninstall our app, let the tech work, and then reinstall the app afterwards which takes a lot of extra time. They wanted to see if there was a way we can let the techs get access to spmode without having to remove our app. We have been working on a POC for them, and I've been able to get it to where I can hide our UI and let them access the homescreen, but because the printer is in Custom Authentication mode they can't get access to any of the classic apps in order to enter the code in. Is there something I can do in the permissions to make it so that those apps are available? Or an api call to temporarily turn off Custom Authentication, or programatically launch one of the classic apps?
SIGNATURE FOR PHAROS SENTRY (COMMON CLIENT) AUTHENTICATOR
Incident Properties
Question
Hi there,
Attached is the ZIP file for the signature. We have increased the application version from 1.5.1 to 1.5.2. In this update, we have done bug fixes found on the customer end.
Issue Highlighted- Ricoh devices with SE50 installed are having challenges with the latest Firmware Deployment to devices
Fix for the issue- We have handled some null case scenarios on the code side and passed the default value if it becomes null.
we have also raised the incident for this issue as well, here is the link for that https://ricoh-ridp.com/ridp/support-system/incident/ricoh-sdc-canada/1724268242/935758396/5310
.We have shared the unsigned .apk and dalp file and unsigned packages for certification. Please let us know if you need anything else from our side.
Thanks!
Question on Maintenance update
Incident Properties
Question
Just a simple question so we can plan this correctly. We are planning on changing the name of our application from PrinterLogic to Vasion Print. We are trying to plan if this warrants a new certification request or if that fits under the maintenance releases since it is just a logo change and the features supported will not change.
