Maintenance signature Request ROILogin_10x-12x
Incident Properties
Question
Can you provide a signature for the attached ROILogin_10x-12x JAR file.
Update as follows: Update to the timeout method during document processing as demonstrated to Gerardo by Nick Parker.
Timer on the production version was not resetting each time a document event was fired, which prevented users producing document run with a time limit greater than our default timer.
AAA Xlet Start Exception (Gerardo)
Incident Properties
Question
Hi Gerardo
Thank you for your time yesterday.
I have an xlet start problem with missing class defs etc. I have attached the zip which has the jar, dalp and console output I am seeing.
Nothing has changed in the build files you went through yesterday but I am guessing something isn't declared.
I have tested placing all of the external AAA jar files into the lib folder and the resources folder and they are included in the built jar but it hasn't made a difference. I didn't include them in the dalp file declarations.
If you need any more info from me please let me know.
Best regards
Nick

Question
I have a few questions for you:
· Can you provide me with any documentation on AAA framework please? All I could find was a ppt in the sdk and was looking for a white paper or similar?
· We are almost ready to provide Ricoh with an updated version of our current Xlet (with new features) as well as a new Pull Print Xlet. Can you tell me what the availability is please or how soon we need to submit?
· Can we get a test copy of NSI (or similar) to test AAA sign on when we are ready? If not then can you please point me in the right direction of who I need to contact to get a copy of that?
Many thanks!
Model info for MP501 - Wrong code
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
We identified that the code of the MP501 is wrong at the document sdkj_modelinfo_880000_e101.pdf from Resource CD. The document provides the 880001 as the MP501 code and the 880002 for the MP601. At least with our device, we got the code 880002.
If they are switched, please, fix it in the document and reply.
Best regards,
Fabiano
SDK/J Scanning on 306z - ORIGINAL_LEFT not notified
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
As part of our scanning application, prior to starting the scan, we check the ScannerStateReasons contains ORIGINAL_LEFT and ORIGINAL_SET to determine if there is no originals loaded on the platen or the feeder. If there are no originals then we display a message to the user requesting the user place an original in the feeder or on the platen.
We have added this behaviour as it is one of the test cases specified in Xlet Type Application Evaluation Criteria Specification document.
I have tested on our Ricoh MPC 3002 MFD and on our Lanier C305 MFD and it works fine (The C305 doesn't support detecting when originals are on the glass according the model info document, but the behaviour observed is that it will always have the ORIGINAL_LEFT attribute in ScannerStateReason, so the application will still be able to function and scan an empty page in this case).
However testing on our Ricoh MPC 306z MFD and it scanner state reasons was empty when an original was on the glass.
- Ensure the scanner is in a clean state (i.e. reboot the device)
- Launch a third party scanning application that checks for ORIGINAL_LEFT (e.g. PaperCut)
- Attempt a scan with paper on the glass (no paper in feeder)
RESULT: Third party app displays error message that no originals are on the glass / feeder. Logs indicate that the scan state is idle and there are no attributes in scan reasons.
- Launch Ricoh scanning application (Scanner classic), and perform a scan. This scans from the platen and once scan is finished displays a warning that the original has been left on the glass (i.e. ORIGINAL_LEFT has been notified). NOTE: The platen lid was not lifted after scan finished.
- Go back to the third party scanning app and perform scan again
RESULT: ORIGINAL_LEFT is now notified and scanning from the platen works
- Remove the paper from the platen
- Perform scan again in third party application and expect the warning message that there are no originals
RESULT: Scan starts (i.e. ORIGINAL_LEFT is notified in scanner state reasons.
I would expect the first result to successfully scan (i.e. ORIGINAL_LEFT exists in scanner state reasons), and the third result to present a 'no originals' message to the user (i.e. ORIGINAL_LEFT does not exist in scanner state reasons).

Daniel

Single Sign On for Native Scan to Folder Ricoh Feature
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
Quick question:
Shouldn't our login xlet (ROILogin 10-12x) have single sign on to the Ricoh native scan to folder app?
I have set up a scan to folder option and I'm getting scans coming into the network shared folder. However, I cannot tell if once I authenticate through our xlet if the credentails are passed to the scan folder as SSO?
Can you give me some guidance please?
Thanks,

Ricoh SDK/J Xlet certification - document server test case query
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
In the Xlet Type Application Evaluation Criteria Specification, in section 2.5, category number 5-1, it outlines a test case around storing images in Document Server until no storage space is available. The Document Server total available space on our MFD is 77GB. How is this test case tested by the certification team? We are looking for a quick and easy way to fill up this storage space. The only way we can see is to print a large document from the client PC (hundreds of times) and wait for 77GB of data to be printed to the document server over the network. Is there an easier way to run this test case?

File Allocator tool - signed JAR required
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
On the RIDP website, under Development Resources --> Tools --> SDK/J development tools --> Tools, there is a File Allocator application which includes the source code, a DALP file and a class file. The ant build script references a common build script which is not included in the package. There is no JAR file in this package or manifest file that could be used when building the JAR. Could you please provide a signed JAR + DALP file for this application that can be installed onto an MFD?
Thanks,
Daniel
