Please could you help us to understand a problem we are experiencing when we enable Enhance Unit Management (Printing) on our 7X device.

Our PullPrint xlet releases the print job,  the print job leaves the print queue and the data light comes on on the mfp but the job isn't printed and we don't receive any events within the ROILogin_4X-7X authentication xlet.

If we switch Enhance Unit Management (Printing) off, we can print straight to the device no problem.

If you could look into this as a matter of urgency it would be a huge help as my colleague Rocky would like to submit the projects for testing today and this is the only outstanding issue in this solution.

All the other events are received within our ROILogin_4X-7X xlet (Copy/Scan/Fax). I could understand if the job was printed but didn't fire the event but the job doesn't even print and our xlet isn't blocking the print job in any way.  The user is logged in, otherwise we wouldn't receive Copy/Scan/Fax events.

Is it possible to make HTTPS and FTPS calls in SDK/J? Could you give us some guidance on how this can be done? Regarding FTP we currently use the dsdknet library and as far as I know it does not provide support for FTPS.

Hi,

Because of customer issues we were asked to update the AAA library in our PCC and ShareScan solutions to v1.4.2 (I believe Chris Buchanan from Ricoh was our contact). So we've created builds both of PCC and ShareScan with the updated libraries but during internal testing we found that there is a startup problem when now when AAA is turned on.

What happens when we have both PCC and ShareScan installed and AAA set to active for ShareScan (this has its own separate settting in ShareScan Admin Console and needs a device reboot after turning it on), after the device is rebooted, neither applications can properly start up and in the 125 logs we see OutOfMemoryErrors or a MEMORY FULL message.

The devices were set to maximum heap and this happened right after startup, so it's very strange because usually our applications can work with much less heap settings just fine over long periods of time.

I'm attaching two 125 log sets, one from an MPC300 and the other from an MP301.

Could you please advise on this issue - is it something in the new library that's wrong, or should we do something differently for the updated library to work?

We have come across an issue with a 7X device that my colleague Rocky is testing on.

I will explain below:

We have a PullPrint Xlet that supports 4X-12X device platforms and a ComServer servlet that also supports 4X-12X device platforms.

We also have two Login xlets one for 4X-7X platforms and one for 10X-12X platforms. 

When testing across 10X-12X having all of the following installed:

ROIComServer_4X-12X

ROIPullPrint_4X-12X

ROILogin_10X-12X

Everything functions perfectly.

When testing on our 7X device with the following installed:

ROIComServer_4X-12X

ROIPullPrint_4X-12X

ROILogin_4X-7X

We experience a problem where the PullPrint xlet launches but doesnt create it's print job list screen and just appears to be missing the majority of controls (buttons and labels).  The Login xlet and ComServer servlet both function correctly.  If we stop the Login xlet and the ComServer servlet and launch the PullPrint xlet on its own, the screens appear without a problem.  There is obviously something underlyingly causing this behaviour but we cannot see what. We have run 125 logs on many occassions but nothing is reported back to the cygwin console to give us any idea of the cause.

I am absolutely out of ideas and we have pretty much concluded there isn't a problem with either code or data handling within the PullPrint xlet or indeed the Login xlet and ComServer.  Rocky stopped the Login xlet after we had had this issue and the PullPrint xlet straight away appeared with it's screen displaying correctly.

If you could provide assistance on this as a matter of urgency it would be greatly appreciated as we are hoping to submit for testing on Friday and this issue is holding up up hugely.

Will SDK/J applications run on MFPs that Savin, Lanier, Gestetner OEM'd from Ricoh?

Where can I find a cross reference? I alread found this link but wonder if there is anything else from Ricoh since this seems to have older models listed:

IS there a setting that allows ROI as the default application so that the ROI scrren appears after restarting the device, waking up from sleep etc?

We need to provide the same functionality that we currently get on the 10-12x ROI Login software by setting priority and auto start to True.

Is there a setting to get the 7x device to recognize the card reader. We have Ricoh MP 5501 for testing and i have plugged the USB reader intot he back of the device but cannot get it to work .
