Servlet Started Failure and best practices collecting logs
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
Working with Dupoint We have identified an issue in after deploying the HotSpot Embedded software v6.14 on specific devices. The servlet fails to finish launching, and as a result cannot collect our own logs off PrinterOn web admin page we created.
For example, the latest version works with an MP 3003 but not an MP 3004. It’s consistent with other xx04 models as well. Originally we asked the Ricoh team to provide the MFP’s system stdout log, but they told us they did not know how to get them. Are there recommended instructions for collecting these logs that we could give to Ricoh technicians? The one method we know using debug tools did not seem to be the right approach
Also, are there any known issues with these models? We are starting to suspect this issue could be related to our own logging during launch time, but its difficult to know without getting the logs off the device
Thanks
Mike
Suspend event missing on 305
Incident Properties
Question
I am trying to tie into the SaveEnergyMode events but they do not work on the MPC 305SPF which is a 10.xx platform printer. I am able to get the events on the 306 which is a 12.xx platform printer. I have attached my test application as well as the rsh output for each printer. I performed the same actions with both printers but as you can see the 306 calls
NDDPRINT CLIENT RICOH 5.6.0 - MAINTENANCE SIGNATURE
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
We would like to get Maintenance Signature of our nddPrintClient application;
It is applied to 7x, 10x, 11x and 12x.
Display supported are uWVGA, WVGA.
The changes affect just the jar file nddPrintClientRicoh.jar;
In Dalp file the change was just the version tag (<application-ver>5.6.0</application-ver>)

Ricoh Verification
Incident Properties
Question
We are planning to submit a new version of Ricoh Embedded (Java) for certification on 10/06/2017. This will be a full verification and not a Maintenance Signature request. So, we would like to know if this schedule for submission works fine from your end.
Thank you,
Divya
MP9002 device throws "Device Java.util.ConcurrentModificationException" if start hard key is used.
Incident Properties
Question
On an MP9002 device, if the soft start key is used, the scan is successful. If the physical start key is used, the fo Error: "Java.util.ConcurrentModificationException" gets displayed as shown in the attached snapshot IMG_1786.
also, found on 7502 models.
When we press hard key, omtoolxlet does capture the event but before it could start scanning (scanning code is the same used for soft start key), this error is thrown by the device.
Steps to reproduce:
at the MP 9002, press an AccuRoute button such as Routing Sheet.
with the paper loaded in the ADF or on the glass, select the physical start key
Observe the error.
Attached all the files requested by Ricoh.

HotSpot Embedded v6.14 Maintenance Signature Request
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
Please note that I have also email Gerardo and Joe reagrding this request and this is the follow up from that email notifying them of the request. This is also the related to the same email sent by Martin Gundel last week.
Please find attached version 6.14 of the PrinterOn-Ricoh HotSpot Embedded v6.14 and we are requesting a maintenance release to address a bug identified as part of a customer POC.
The attached release notes include a decription of the changes. I have included the stadnard Compatibility rquest document for the sake of completeness, but it may not be required if we satisfy the maintenance signature requirements.
Thank you in advance,
Mike
Blank white screen after security scan
Incident Properties
Question
MFPs at Apple are (were) showing a white screen and the MFP is unresponsive. Logs show too many windows error. A reboot is the only resolution.
This behavior has been correlated to the Qualys security scan. Removing the MFPs from the scan results in normal behavior.
See https://ricoh-ridp.com/ridp/support-system/incident/ricoh-americas-corp-technology-center/1499270043/759302415/2075 for other behavior associated with the scan.
I'm adding this incident so RCL can be aware of the "white screen" behavior associated with the security scan. I'm not expecting any action from Ricoh other than to note the behavior and send send it to RCL.
It's worth noting, Wells Fargo and Roswell Park have reported similar behavior as outlined in these incidents:
It's unknown if Wells and Roswell also have security scans or some other utility that port scans devices. We will be communicating with both Wells Fargo and Roswell Park to get further information.
Thanks,
Nick.
Original exists on glass sensor not detecting A5 landscape original
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
As per the test case in the Xlet Application Evaluation Criteria Specification (V1.11) section 2.3, category number 3-5. in our SDK/J solution we have implemented a check for no originals on the glass or in the feeder and display an alert to the user that there is nothing to scan. To determine if there is an original on the contact glass we inspect the scanner service for the ORIGINAL_LEFT ScannerStateReason.
We have come across an issue when testing with a MPC 3002, 3003 and 6004 that scanning a A5 landscape original from the glass (placed in the top most left hand corner in a landscape orientation from the user's point of view) is not picked up by the sensors that detect if an original is on the contact glass.
Is this a known issue? Is it possible that we can remove the 'no originals exist' check and mark that test case as N/A and still pass any future certifications? The standard Ricoh SDK/J scanner application doesn't appear to do this check and allows scanning an empty page if there are no originals on the glass or document feeder.
Thanks,
Daniel
TLS reconfiguration after security scan
Incident Properties
Question
Hi Team,
I received a report from the field that a Qualys security scan causes the certificate trust store to get reset on the older SDK/J 4.x runtime? Essentially this means reinstalling our certificate with our installation tool (push a new truststore file, and set the java system property to use the new file). The customer has worked around this issue by adding printers to an exception list, and that is acceptable for now. Unfortunatley I lack the details of exactly what the scan does and what ports its accessing, but are there any known issues that could reset the java runtime's trust system so that can my my support team aware of them?
Sorry to be so vague, but I have to ask :-)
