Out of memory on the device C307SPF after rebooting.
Incident Properties
Question
Hello
Our customer got a problem out of memory on the device C307SPF with SafeQ + Kofax app
- Installed SafeQ app and see it works as well.
- Check WIM, the heap size free = 12 bytes (I guess it is too small). SafeQ is installed on Flash Memory
- I have increased Heap size and stack size to max, Check for heap size free = 16 bytes, it is still too small.
- Install Kofax SDK/J based client app onto HDD (demo version or production signed version 5.0.0.850). Start Kofax app and see the Kofax app works as well, it can send job to server if without reboot device.
- Reboot device, SafeQ is starting first as default on the screen, and it shows out of memory error on the screen. This issue just happens after installed Kofax app.
- Wait for 7 minutes, close the error message on the screen, and then both SafeQ and Kofax app can work as normal (I guess device is already, GC has run to free memory)
I check the log125 it says "Memory full"
Please see the attached files for screenshot, and the log125 when Heap size default = 24M, and the log after increased Heap size to max value.
Do you have any suggestion to resolve this issue? If the Customer install SafeQ to HDD, can this issue be resolved?
Thank you so much

Use of TLS 1.2 with SDK/J
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
We are looking at abandoning TLS 1.0 for our cloud service, but we have many customers using our SDK/J application to connect to the cloud.
It is our understanding that Ricoh 11.x and 12.x devices support TLS 1.1 and 1.2, but in our tests, when setting up a web server that only accepts TLS 1.2 we are not able to establish a connection. In the network trace, we see an SSLv2 Client Hello in which the application offers TLS1.0 (only), which the server refuses.
The device we are testing with is a Ricoh MP 305+ with Java platform version 12.34.01. Our application is built with SDK 12.12.06.
Should our application be able to connect to a server accepting only TLS1.2? Are there any settings on the MFP we need to configure to enable this?
Thanks,
Peter
SDK/J Maintenance Signature

Printing gets disabled
Incident Properties
Question
When I turn on external single sign on setting OPTIONAL_COUNTER_TYPE__DEFAULT_OPTIONAL_COUNTER_TYPE to 1
I am having trouble printing to the MPC 306. When a print job is sent to the printer it wakes up and begins to warm up but then stops. This is not an issue with the 305 it prints as expected. Is there a setting that would stop the printer from pushing the data through to the printer?
I did recently install then remove streamline Version 2 to test compatibility with our application. Could there be an artifact there that could be preventing the printer from spooling the print jobs onto the printer?

Demo Signature version got error: Invalid SHA1 signature file digest for...
Incident Properties
Question
Hi
Our unsigned client can work as well in our lab's machines, but we cannot start application after got demo signature from RiDP portal to run on customer machine.
On a demo machine, the log125 says:
--------------
SDK_P_XLETM]statechange exception === [stderr] java.lang.SecurityException: invalid SHA1 signature file digest for com/kofax/des/mfp/share/client/model/tools/CachedLicenseChecker.class
[stderr] at sun.security.util.SignatureFileVerifier.verifySection(SignatureFileVerifier.java:485)
[stderr] at sun.security.util.SignatureFileVerifier.processImpl(SignatureFileVerifier.java:275)
--------------
Could you please help to make a valid demo signature for the attached version? I need to run it on customer machine.
This issue usually happens with demo version that I request demo signature from the RiDP portal. I attached the log125, maybe you should see its problem.
Thank you so much

USB Print tracking
Incident Properties
Question
I'm pretty sure the MFP doesn't provide an event into Java when a print from USB job completes and this is our current reasoning for not supporting print from USB tracking in the Ricoh solution. Note: we track these as copy jobs on other platforms.
My question is:
- Has this changed at all? Is there a way to track USB print from SDK/J
- If not, is there another strategy you can suggest (short of writing our own app!)?
- Periodic SNMP query
- Scraping on-device logs.
- Something else?
Thanks,
Nick.
Specify username when installing/uninstalling with rxopClient.
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
At Opentext, we've been using the rxopClient to install/uninstall our java integration module with the RightFax server. In 2014, we added the ability to include a user-defined password when connecting to the device using the argument
--password-device
We recently had a customer request that they be able to register with a user-defined username (something other than "admin"). However, when I look at the options available for rxopClient commandline, I don't see a similar argument that allows me to specify a username when installing or uninstalling.
Is this possible? If so, how is it done?
Thanks in advance,

SDK/J version numbers
Incident Properties
Question
Our MP 402SPF shows JavaTM Platform 12.56.00 under Extended Features and Java VM v12 std 12.47.01 under Firmware Update. What is the difference between these two version numbers? Are they supposed to match?

Mike
