RICOH 4504 AND 6004 MFP EMBEDDED SOFTWARE INSTALL - PART 3
Incident Properties
Question
Referencing this ticket:
Can you check with PTEC and see if they have time to test the installer against a 4505 or 6004 MFP?
This is the full 1.5.7 installer updated to use the -ssl-certless flag and rxop 3.5.10 libraries. (I know 3.5.13 is released but we'll add that to the installer at another time).

How to determine the SDK/J install location (flash / SD, vs. HDD)
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
We have a question how we can determine where Java has been installed via RXOP? Is it possible, as we have been unable to find the actual install location.
Or is there an alternative method that can be used to determine this before having installed an SDK/J application.
Kind regards,
Jan Bollmann
SP mode issue
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
I asked for access to ACCESS_CONTROL__SDK_CERTIFICATION_DEVICE and USER_AUTHENTICATION__PRINTER. I am able to successfully get ACCESS_CONTROL__SDK_CERTIFICATION_DEVICE, but I am not getting success when attempting to get USER_AUTHENTICATION__PRINTER.
Is this a problem with the ACL file?
Thanks,
Bryan
RXOP - Zip file validation
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
When using the Remote Operation Client to install a SDK/J application to the MFD, it utilises the ricoh.rxop.rxinst.AppZipFile class to load and validate the provided zip file. From looking at the source code, as part of the validation, if the Zip file contains any files that are not mentioned in the DALP it will fail validation. Some examples of files which would not be included in the DALP file may be a README file, or hidden operating system generated files (such as thumbs.db on Windows or .DS_Store on Mac).
The JavaDoc on this validate(...) method in the AppZipFile source code indicates the intention is just to confirm all files mentioned in the DALP exist, but it seems to be doing a bit more than that. Is this behaviour intentional? When installing via Web Image Monitor if extra files exist in the zip file that are not mentioned in the DALP it will not fail validation.
Is it possible to request that the validation only validates that the files mentioned in the DALP exist, but not fail if other files are in the zip which are not mentioned in the DALP?
ACL

Question
Hello,
I would like to get an ACL file for our Android deployment. I have requested this before, but now I have added in a new SP setting we will required.
Also, I have a question. Will these SP changes not work on new devices coming out because they have new model codes not matching the ones in the list I am submitting? Will I have to keep getting a new ACL any time we want to support new devices?
Thanks,
Bryan
Deployment Failure (SDKJ not found)
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
We are having an offsite issue where one of our engineers is running into a problem during a demo. They are getting a "-- init -- SDK/J not found on device." error during a deployment. Our deployment tool uses RXOP. The device is an MP C4503.
If the engineer installs the ZIP files through the WIM, they install just fine. My question is, what would cause RXOP to return a "-- init -- SDK/J not found on device." error when it seems like the SDK/J is running on the device just fine?
I am attaching a screenshot showing the SDK/J is "Starting Up" on the device.
Thanks,
Bryan

SPManager exception (rxspServlet not found)
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
I am attempting to configure an SP mode setting prior to our application deployment. I have an ACL file and everything set up correctly I believe.
When I attempt to do the following command:
SPManager spManager = SPManager.create(deviceAddress)
I get the following exception:
java.io.IOException: rxspServlet not found.
But, the rxsp Servlet is on the device, here is the information:
APPLICATION FOUND ON DEVICE - ID(33817044) NAME(rxspServlet) VERSION(3.5.11) STATE(active)
I am attaching the stack trace.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan
