Connection Issues with series 10 devices when hosting PaperCut on CloudShift
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
A high priority issue escalated where customer can not have embedded application connected to Papercut Server on Ricoh IM3010 devices. This issue happens when the Papercut server is hosted on Ricoh CloudShift (formely known as MindShift).
Issue has only been seen on IM C3010 devices. Two IM C3010 devices on different local subnets have been tested and had same issues. When connecting those same devices to a different Papercut on internal network there are no issues. Other Ricoh SOP devices like IM C3000 are connecting to the cloud Papercut server and not having connection issues.
Ricoh Hardware was indicating that this is something that needs to go to RiDP for review. They were basing this on Packet Captures when device to server communication was starting and then broken. The device logs is attached.
The MFP will initiate a session with the Papercut server on source port of 47707 in this instance, the MFP and server start a TLS handshake normally, there is some data transfer, however instead of sending a goodbye (FIN packet, basically an acknowledgement that the MFP received the data and its ok to close the session), the MFP improperly starts a new communication to the Papercut server on new source port of 47708. The MFP will resets that session almost immediately and then tries to start the TLS handshake again with the Papercut server using that same source port.
I should mention, the firmware on the device is latest. Also there are some issues with SNMP which may be related to this.
Looking forward to your assistance on this and please let me know if you need any further information.
Regards,
Emad
Maintenance Signature request for RfIdeasReaderPlugin
Incident Properties
Question
Please find attached version 1.1.0 of our rf IDEAS Reader Plugin (zipped dalp & APK), as well as the release notes for this build. This plugin previously passed compatibility testing with Ricoh on Thursday February 22nd, 2024 as a part of incident ticket number 5089. The updates in this incident add a total of 33 lines of Java code to our plugin to add support for additional card types. These updates were tested in our lab against C2204ex (G2), IM 550 (G2.5), & IM C2510 (G3) machines.

Maintenance Signing Request
Incident Properties
Question
We are requesting another maintenance signing.
We have a customer New York Presbyterian discover a bug with our application when running on certain MP devices(5055), that was preventing logging into the printer. We have a poller that runs and reaches out to a server to fetch the log in user data and return it to the printer. When the printer goes to sleep we would shut off the poller, and then restart it when it detected the printer waking up. We found that we were getting the notifications when the printer went to sleep, but not waking up, so the poller would not start up again and the user could not log into the printer. We removed the poller code from our PowerState receiver and moved it to the UI instead so now it starts up whenever the ui is displayed or refreshed.
We also have another bug fix where we would occasionally get a NullPointerException when refreshing the UI. We added some additional null pointer checks to handle that issue and recreate the object if needed.

MP printers not sending consistent Power Mode messages
Incident Properties
Question
We have an application that uses an Event Receiver to monitor the power state of the printer. When the printer goes to a low power mode or goes to sleep we shut off certain process like network connections, etc. When the printer wakes up we restart those processes. We've noticed on MP printers we are getting inconsistent notifications from the printer. We get messages when the printer goes to sleep(PowerMode 4, Engine off state), but we don't get messages when the printer wakes up(going from 4 to 2 or 4 to 0 or 2 to 0) so certain processes never start back up and our app stops functioning. Are there any power settings on the printer that might affect these messages? We've seen this issue with a customer who was running into the issue on some MP 5055s, and we've been able to duplicate the same problem in house on an MP C307. Our printer has Screen Startup Mode set to Normal, and Energy Saving Recover Mode for Business Application is set to Off. Or is there an alternative way to check for when the printer transitions between power states?
J112 Error installing ScanGUI app
Incident Properties
Question
- We tried to install the ScanGUI app on two devices, and didn't realize it was already installed
- That install then got the J112 error
- (image attached)
- After it was realized that ScanGUI was already on the device they tried to install the Scan Receipt app and got the same J112 error
- I have spot-checked several devices and can see most have the ScanGUI already installed and was able to successfully install the Scan Receipt application
- None of the devices in my spot check failed
My question is now around trying to install an app that is already on the device. Is the error we're running into known to occur if trying to install an app that was already on the device, and if so, is there an easy way to clear it?
Vanishing Capture icon
Incident Properties
Question
Can you tell us what is causing the Capture icon to vanish from the Home screen?
Capture icon vanishes from home screen shortly after Printix user logs in, but after home screen finishes loading.
The Capture icon can still be retrieved using the applications button and placed back on the home screen.
We have recorded a video illustrating this behavior. We have only observed it on an IM C2510. Device log attached. The attached device log shows the setting of the application icon for both the go package and the capture package. Both appear to end successfully.
