Using TLS 1.2 with "higher tls support" FW
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
I succesfully installed the "higher TLS support" FW, enabled TLS 1.2, 1.1, and 1.0, and modified our code to request sslContext "TLSv1.2" which it seems to be doing. But in a wireshark trace the only TCP HELLO from the MFP is SSLv3. Are there any code modifications I need to make, other than requesting TLS 1.2 for the sslContext in order for my Java app to initiate a TLS 1.2 connection to the server?
Thanks,
Nick.
MP 9003 crashes with stack overflow
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
A customer with a MP 9003 MFP recently had the HD fail. The HD was replaced and the system was reset. I don't know if this was a factory reset of some kind. Prior to the HD replacement our software was working properly on the MFP.
After the HD installation, I'm told the MFP was set up again per our installation guide - SP mode settings and external auth settings.
Our app was then succesfully installed using our installer, not the WiM. The MFP was confgiured to point at the BP server.
After the user badges in they are taken to the home screen. Upon selecting our app, it crashes with a stack overflow.
The logs show there are many, many key presses being sent. Almost like a stuck key. The key press valus ie -1, the "dummy key" (per the SDK).
Does the screen generate a "dummy key" when it's pressed? that would explain what we see in the logs but not why so many.
Any other thoughts on how to troubleshoot this? Considering the MFP workded prior to the HD update with the same SW it seems to be MFP related. I'm not rulingout an issue in our code since it is crashing with a stack overflow but it seems that with normal key presses this never happens but when they arrive too quickly it causes issues.
Please see the attached rlog around line 511.
Thanks,
Nick.

Signature Service servlet not creating signed packages
Incident Properties
Question
The http://signatureservices.ricohsv.com/signatureservice servlet is not creating production signed packages. I submit a dist package and it uploads pretty quickly, but never issues a successful message and the signed package is not in the production list.
Same problem for Demo packages. Using Chrome with most plugins disabled.
I've attached the dist I'm using. I need to do a few of these today, so it is not convenient to ask for signed packages here.

TLS 1.2 SUPPORT, Part 2
Incident Properties
Question
There's another incident I added in September 2019 about TLS. It references special FW for various MFPs and Java platforms and that a service tech is required to install it.
What specifically do we ask for when we schedule a service call to get the higher FW version that support TLS 1.2?
Is there anything we need to do in the Java code to force TLS 1.2 and / or disable other protocols?
Thanks,
Nick.
SDKJ - Problems with accounting copy events type duplex
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
We're having some problems with the accounting copy events.
According to the tests performed, we are at the following situation:
- Copies occur normally when there is balance for this operation;
- As we already know, by closing the user's balance during copy process, the operation allows the balance to be negative by one page (the event come after the last page is printed);
- However, when it comes to copies with the duplex function, the behavior changes, so the machine still sends copy events even after the application has logged out the user and finished the operations (code_sample_03). When the copy type is simplex, this don't occurs;
- This causes different information to be sent to the SmartCount / SafePrint server, with more pages printed than the information sent;
Do you know if there is any problem with the accounting copy events when the copy type is duplex?
Kind regards
MAINTENANCE SIGNATURE FOR IMFP 1.5.9
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
We made one change to 1.5.9. The change is to support the Yuan currency symbol. The customer is NYU at their branch(es) in China.
Joe Gormley and Scott Olswold (Pharos product owner) agreed on allowing this maintenance certification even though a full cert hasn't happedned in quite some time. Note there is another certification date in January for the new UI/UX for connecting to Uniprint and Blueprint. The new solution will supersede the old SDK/J solution so this request is really a stop-gao to get us through until the new solution is available.
Thanks,
Nick.
