FIPS 140-2 support
Incident Properties
Question
Hi Ricoh Support,
our app is a webApp based on Smart SDK and javascript, it runs on webBrowser NX.
I´m investigating the FIPS 140-2 support on Ricoh devices and I need your input.
based on this page:
https://www.ricoh-usa.com/en/insights/articles/device-security
it looks that for a Ricoh device to support FIPS 140-2 it will needed a "FIPS 140-2 CMVP validated hard drive" and a future firmware release.
Can you give me more info on what I will need to do in the device in order for the MFP to use FIPS 140-2 when communicating with our API?
Thank you,
Luís

Question
Hello,
Is there a difference between RICOH MP 4055 JPN and RICOH MP 4055? If Yes, what is it?
If RICOH MP 4055 is supported by our application, can we assume RICOH MP 4055 JPN is supported?
Thanks
Not able to Enable copy tracking - Enhance Print Volume Limitation is missing
Incident Properties
Question
Enable Tracking (for copy tracking) is not working on any C4500 machines. Not able to enable tracking from web image monitor too. The menu is missing on both device and Web image monitor. There is no “Enhanced Print Volume Use Limitation”. The area where it would be, is blank.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Chaitanya
Native Scanner App (Scan to E-Mail) with OCR and Address Book
Incident Properties
Question
We have observed an issue when using the native Scanner App (with the OCR module installed at the device), that the OCR process does not use the original Address Book entry information (that existed at point of Scanner App initiating a scan) and instead is looking up the Address Book entry again after the OCR process finishes (separate to the Scanner App process).
The effect is that the OCR’d scan can be sent to another “e-mail address” in a scenario where the Address Book entry “e-mail address” changes following (a) the Scanner App process completing and before (b) the OCR process completing.
Could you help us identify if this is a known issue with the OCR process following the Scanner App completing and if there is a solution planned to resolve it?

How do I decrypt the device (or trace) logs fetched from WIM?
Once you have collected the device logs as described in How do I collect the device (or trace) logs? | Ricoh Developer Program (RiDP) (ricoh-ridp.com) you will have an encrypted archive that will need to be decrypted by the self-serve Ricoh Log Analyzer Tool utility.
How do I collect the device (or trace) logs?
Investigating application faults on embedded devices can be a challenge, and sometimes a post-mortem snapshot of the device under test is necessary. Using WIM (Web Image Monitor) on Ricoh multi-function or print devices it is possible to collect comprehensive trace logs that can be used for this purpose.
