Ricoh IMC300 firmware update
Incident Properties
Question
Hi Support,
We are trying to update our Ricoh IMC 300 firmware located in Ireland. We have an issue with a customer in USA that has a similar MFP but with higher firmware version.
To do that, we are using the tool described in this link:
Ricoh Firmware Update Tool - Ricoh
We are always getting an error in the end of the update process with the following messages:

The PIP (Personal Information Protect) feature does not work correctly after installing PCC.
Incident Properties
Question
Hi RiDP,
Issue description: Our customer is using PCC5 (1.3.594) on 500 Ricoh IM C4510 and IMC 2510 devices. They have activated Personal Information Protect to prevent users from viewing others' activities on the MFD. While print activity is hidden, copy activity remains visible.
The customer views this as an error and is inquiring whether there is a way to hide the job activities.
Note: Before PCC5 was installed, no activity was visible. After installing PCC5, all native copy activities remained visible even though Personal Information Protect was still activated.
This is the screen they are trying to protect hide the user data:
PCC is using custom authentication using API ( jp.co.ricoh.isdk.sdkservice.auth.custom.SYS_ASK_CUSTOM_AUTH_KIND )
We have also reproduced this issue in our devices (IMC 2010).
Questions :
1 - Could this be a firmware issue?
2 - How does the PIP function before and after installing PCC ?
3 - Is there a way to completely turn off the display of job activities?
Regards
Question about Case Resolution for Amazon
Incident Properties
Question
Ricoh technical person (Willian Cravens, Email: William.Cravens@ricoh-usa.com) worked with Amazon to resolve an issue at Amazon regarding the native scan to functionality on the Ricoh devices. Here are some details.
- Ricoh got it working at Amazon via configuration change as stated by Amazon.
- Amazon cannot explain in any detail what those changes are and directed us to Ricoh.
- The Ricoh team that worked with Amazon requested us to open a RIDP case so they can share the information.
Our goal here is to figure out what changes were made to get the native scan functionality working so that we can add it to our documentation.
Additional information on the initial issue
- Prior to securing Ricoh devices with Pharos Secure Print, Amazon was using the native scanning functionality on their devices.
- Pharos worked with Ricoh to build and certify a cloud-connected capability so Ricoh devices can operate in a true cloud environment. In order for Amazon to take advantage of this capability, they had to upgrade their cloud environment. Amazon uses a single Pharos cloud platform that they manage / administer.
- Once they upgraded the cloud platform and secured the Ricoh devices, the “native scanning” functionality stopped working the way they need it.
- Amazon has stated that Ricoh has found a configuration that makes this work.
Thanks

Understanding about Application Authentication Setting for the Printer

Question
Hi Team,
I am reaching out regarding the "Authentication Setting for the Printer" under "Application Authentication Management." What does this setting do on our printer? We found that this setting is a prerequisite for pull printing in Ricoh
Thanks.
Please help to investigate the issue: MFP fails to connect to server using DigiCert signed certificate
Incident Properties
Question
Hi
Our ControlSuite Servers work fine with self-signed certificates but do not work with DigiCert.
We also replicate in our labs and ensure that customer setup steps are correct on the server side. The installed certificate is complete and has the appropriate settings for the server domain.
After reviewing the device logs, we saw several message strings similar to the following:
02-28 10:15:41.212 1547 2516 I System.out: trying to look up session (host: vrtpw50046.corp.umb.com, port: 2939)
...
02-28 10:15:41.216 1547 2516 I System.out: WARNING: Original WolfSSL peer verification failed!
So it looks like the MFP is rejecting the server certificate because WolfSSL is part of the firmware. We don't know the details of how MFP verifies server certificates using WolfSSL.
Can you help describe how MFD validates the server's certificate, as well as clear the cause of the above error and suggest information to help us address the root cause?
I send more information in the attached files:
1 - Device log
2 - File Cert (DigiCert) is installed on the server (vrtpw50046.corp.umb.com.zip) and the password to import: CORP123!@#
For the certificate installed on the client side (which comes with the PCC installer), you can generate a certificate by:
-Import the certificate in item #2 above into Certificate Management (certlm.msc).
-Open the Server Certificate management tool “certlm.msc” and Export the Certificate as Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER).
WIM unresponsive

Question
I am working remotely with a C2000, and am unable to access the Web Image Monitor.
I am able to ping the device; however, whenever I try to access it, I get a 503 Service Unavailable error returned.
Does anyone know what may be causing the WIM to become unresponsive?
Thanks.
FIPS 140-2 support
Incident Properties
Question
Hi Ricoh Support,
our app is a webApp based on Smart SDK and javascript, it runs on webBrowser NX.
I´m investigating the FIPS 140-2 support on Ricoh devices and I need your input.
based on this page:
https://www.ricoh-usa.com/en/insights/articles/device-security
it looks that for a Ricoh device to support FIPS 140-2 it will needed a "FIPS 140-2 CMVP validated hard drive" and a future firmware release.
Can you give me more info on what I will need to do in the device in order for the MFP to use FIPS 140-2 when communicating with our API?
Thank you,
Luís
