Change port number for SDK/J Emulator
Incident Properties
Question
Our moron corporate security team recently installed McAfee on our machines which has a service that runs on the same port as the emulator causing the emulator to throw up an error when it tries to bind ports. Of course in typical corporate security fashion I have no way of stopping the service and I'm pretty sure I'd have better luck re-writing the entirety of Windows in machine code, blindfolded, with my hands tied behind my back than getting those geniuses to give me permission to stop McAfee.
Is there anyway to change the port that the emulator tires to bind to? The error I get is: "Error PortNumber 8081 is in used. Please change PortNumber and restart." which makes it seem like I could change the port but looking at the various bat files I didn't see this option anywhere.
This happens with both Embedded_Software_Architecture_Emulator_11.00c and Embedded_Software_Architecture_Emulator_12.00b.
KofaxRicoh Client conflicts with GeniusMFP
Incident Properties
Question
Hello
Our cutomer gets an issue on Ricoh C6003 and C4503 devices.
Kofax app cannot be started, but it can start and work if stop GeniusMFP app on those devices.
Some time, after reboot MFP, both Kofax app and GeniusMFP app can work together, but the most time Kofax app cannot work. The cutomer is not able to uninstall GeniusMFP app.
I guess a conflict on the starting up order between Kofax app and GeniusMFP app.
I have captured its rlog in the attached.
Can we have a workaround to resolve the conflict?
Please advise.
Thank you

Hi RiDP team,
We have an eCopy ShareScan v5.4 HF Release Candidate that has one bug fix for an escalation. It also contains branding changes inline with the Nuance to Kofax transition of the product. I'd like to ask for a maintenance signature of the attached. Supported platforms are: v10, v11, v12 Supported panels: SVGA, uWVGA, WVGA Modified Jars: ShareScanOP.jar (this is the only JAR in the ZIP) There are some minor changes in the DALP file besides the version tag, the vendor, phone number, email/web-help URLs are updated.

Why I'm not able to get host name from SDK/J platform?
Kofax Java (Xlet ) client canot get hostname on SOP device
Incident Properties
Question
Hello
Our customer issues their SOP Ricoh devices (IM C4500; MP 402) are running Kofax Java (xlet) client, and it cannot get device hostname, it returns an empty value.
We can repro this issue in our lab with C306 device.
We are using this method to get the host name, and it has been working as well on Ricoh Java device.
InetAddress addr = InetAddress.getLocalHost();
String hostName = addr.getHostName().trim();
Note: With device fw <7x, we are using getHostNameBySNMP()
How do we fix this issue? can you give me an example code
Thank you very much

How to create icons for SDK/J application displayed on MFP home panel
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
We followed Ricoh documentation for how to create icons for an SDK/J application to displayed on MFP home panel by using gimg tool but it doesn't work for us. Our created icons are still invalid and cannot be displayed on MFP home panel for our SDK/J application.
I attached the images we tried here.
- Images in the Old folder are the ones that can be displayed on the MFP.
- Images in the New - Attempt 1 folder are the ones that can not be displayed on the MFP.
- Images in the New - Attempt 2 folder are the ones that can not be displayed on the MFP as well.
Our company requirement is to update the logo for the Old images to the New ones. I'm not sure if you can base on the images inside either the New - Attempt 1 folder or the New - Attempt 2 folder to help us to modify them to create the updated ones that can be displayed on MFO home panel?
I greatly appreaciate if you can help us out for that!
Thanks very much!
