RXOP 3.8.8 possible RXSP removal
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
This question is related to the newest RXOP (3.8.8) and the new G3 device support.
Our application deployment software uses RXOP and RXSP to configure the device for our custom authentication. Will our RXSP calls will no longer work? If so, what alternative do we have to configure the device’s SP mode settings for our custom authentication?

Bryan

Question
Hello,
We're using RXOP client, but we haven't found how to configure "Function Priority" and "Screen device always-connection Setting" functions. Is there any documentation that could help us on this?
Also, for using the "get-conf" command, we need a "CONF_ID" wich we couldn't find in the documentation available. Is there any ids list we could use?
Thanks for your help.

Question
Hello,
When trying to run the "set-sp" command, we are getting a "rxspServlet not found" error. We're currently using 3.8.8 version of the servlet application and we've also tried using older versions.

Question
Hi,
We are running into an issue that so far we are only seeing happening with the customer's device. RXOP installation fails when calling GetAppInfo. The installer code makes 4 calls to GetApp info, and receives the following responses.
Install SP Servlet!
Failed to install SP servlet. Retry: 1
-- init -- SDK/J not found on device.
Failed to install SP servlet. Retry: 2
-- init -- SDK/J not found on device.
Failed to install SP servlet. Retry: 3
-- init -- SDK/J not found on device.
Failed to install SP servlet. Retry: 4
-- init -- javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Remote host terminated the handshake
The installer is using RXOP 3.8.8.
The device firmware was updated. We've initiated the install several times and always have received similar erros to the ones above. We've tried with and without the SDK/J card installed in this device, and installed in either SD1 or SD2.
Please help us understand what is causing these errors.

Question
Hi
Following up on the incident here: https://ricoh-ridp.com/ridp/support-system/incident/ricoh-sdc-canada/1668439245/1344078063/4704
I managed to reproduce the issue the client was having. It appears to only occur with the latest Oracle JRE (I tested with both versions 8u351 and the latest java Oracle 17 JDK (build 17.0.5+9-LTS-191). I am also getting the issue running the RXOP sample, so it's not something I am specifically doing in the packaging of my application.
When running the sample using the "get-apps-more" command I get the following output:

RXOP error when deploying a demo-signed application to a particular device
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
There is a client who is having issues with our application on their Ricoh device. I suspect that is has something to do a change I made recently in order to fix another issue, so I rebuilt a version of the application with what I think will resolve the issue, which I then signed using the "signature self-service" 60-day demo licence and then gave the app to the client in order to test.
However, the client is getting a "-init- JCE cannot authenticate the provider BC" error when trying to install the application using our deployer (which uses RXOP).
I have noticed the firmware is pretty old, though the client said the firmware was up to date. Could that be the cause of the issue? If that is the case can you tell me if there is more current firmware available for this model (MP 402SPF).
I've attached the logs from the device.
Thanks,
Peter
RXOP call getSPData on 3 devices, result is failed on 2 devices fails, successful on 1 device
Incident Properties
Question
Hi RiDP support,
I use RXOP to call spManager.getSPData on 3 devices at the same time. The result is failed on 2 devices (IP are 172.29.87.67 and 172.29.109.87), successful on 1 device (IP is 172.29.98.133).
I attached RXOP debug logs, machine logs.
Please help to compare logs of 3 device, may be they have some issues.
The devices have been upgraded firmware to the latest. The same result in RXOP 3.8.7 and RXOP 3.8.8.
Thanks.
"Connection reset by peer" Exception when invoking InstallServlet
Incident Properties
Question
Hi RiDP support,
When using RXOP to call install rxspservlet 3.8.7 we got an error:
The exception when call https://10.10.10.72:443/rws/sop/dsdk/InstallServlet, java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: socket write error
install -- STATE_INSTALL_ERROR java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: socket write error
The issue also occurs with RXOP 3.8.8
I attached machine log.
Please advise.
Thanks.
IM 600 / IM 600 SR - API question
Incident Properties
Question
I wanted to ask a question about full native devices (and non-full native devices).
There is a IM 600 SR at my local lab, which I understand to be non-native. There is an installation problem with an IM 600 at a remote lab.
According to some tests I was able to run on it, it appears to be full native, is that correct?
Our code to query the device for its capabilities invokes isUseVMlessApi. That appears to be returning false for the IM 600 SR in my lab, but returning true for the IM 600 at our remote location.
This caught my attention when I looked at the following page in the sdk: "SmartSdk_DevKit_R2209/SmartSdk_DevKit_R2209/doc/en/modinf/100-01_35-0100.htm?ssdk_v3". The internation model line is listed as:
International model |
IM 550 / IM 600 / IM 600SR |
I've always taken that to mean that the devices are essentially the same (in that they use the same firmware). Is it possible that the SR "variant" is not full native, but the non-SR model is full native. I suppose I assumed that the 600 and the 600 SR were more or less equivalent (except for minor variations like color or something). Is that assumption incorrect?
My main question for THIS ticket is about the full native/non-full native question for each device, but I am also seeing the following error when trying to deploy SP settings on the IM 600 device:
Unexpected HTTP status: 500, detail :ResponseEntityProxy{[Content-Type: text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1,Content-Length: 4107,Chunked: false]}
I admit that that isn't a lot to go on. I probably would have to provide more. I was curious if that means anything obvious.
