Error: aaa-client could not register with authentication provider - Connection refused
Incident Properties
Question
Hi
We got a problem SSO on a customer site.
The customer is using alot of Ricoh MFPs with Equitract PCC for Smart Card authentication.
Kofax client does SSO on some MFPs as well (Group A), but cannot do SSO on other MFPs (Group B).
I've troubleshooted the problem by using AAAClientSampleXlet with Rlog tool. I have started up PPC Xlet before AAAClientSampleXlet on WIM to ensure the aaa-provider is started up first.
Group A, log 125 says aaa-client has registerred success. Launch AAAClientSampleXlet on the pront panel screen and see its user name. -> it is expected.
Group B, log 125 says aaa-client could not register with authentication provider AAA: invoke("register",...) failed: Connection refused. -> it is not expected
(attached)
All MFP devices are same Equitract PCC version.
Could you please advise me how do we resolve this problem?
Are there any settings on the device that it can prevent aaa-client registration?
Thank you

Questions for CAPES configuration
Incident Properties
Question
Hi,
We reviewed the machine logs and found the CAP API auth type was “Personal” and we were able to get Username and UserId.
We tried to change the user in CAP Server as Full Admin, User, and General User. But the CAP API auth type was always “Personal”. We don’t how to change it to “User Authentication” or “Administration”
Our Code based on sample code provided looks for all 3 types. For Personal, we set Username and UserId. For User Authentication, we set only Username. For Administration, we set only UserId.
Our questions are,
1. Is Auth Type is based on the license?
2. How do we change it?
3. Why has sample code got 3 Auth types?

CAP troubleshooting - userID not passing to embedded SW
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
PrinterOn has been working with the Ricoh team to try and get HotSpot 6.10 working along with CAP/CAP-ES deployed.
Currently we have been working with Erik from PTEC to help try and resolve the issue. The problem is that the user ID is not being transfered via the CAP SDK to the PrinterOn HotSpot software.
We tried the same HotSpot software deployed in our office and it works, we deployed in PTEC as well and it works, But at the customer site we have not been able to get the userID to tranfer.
The UI on the MFP panel shows the corret user logged but the HotSpot app is not getting the information.
- Erik joined to try and troubleshoot this as well with no luck.
- We originally started with a CAP install and when it didn't work, we tried changing to a CAP-ES deployment
- Brent Lang (blang@printeron.com) is supporting the install for PrinterOn
The integration is being handled by a Servlet app and then presented via a HTML UI.
I have attached the SMC file from the team suppoinrtg the install as well as the CAP log files.
We have run out of ideas to try and troublsheeot why this is happening and risking to have the customer abandon the project.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
Install and Licensing CAP
Incident Properties
Question
Hello,
We are attempting to install/configure CAP so that we can use a card reader to authenticate on our RICOH MFP. So far no success. We installed CAP software on the Ricoh C406z, but when we try to use the Remote Install Manager to license it, we get the following error.
ERR-011: An internal processing error occurred.
The only other information we've been able to find on this error is "Please call the service representative".
Thanks,
