The RiDP compatibility test process enables developers to acquire production signatures for their solutions. Production signatures remove the security restrictions in place during development that limit the application to run only on certain specific devices or only for a specific period of time. Compatibility testing and production signatures are required prior to any end-user pilot program or sale of any solution designed to work with Ricoh SDK/J and/or Ricoh SmartSDK MFP devices.
Compatibility testing begins with the completion of the Compatibility webform which developers should fill out and answer ALL questions. If there are any issues, it's important that you open an incident to clarify or request assistance.
Once both documentation and solution submissions are complete, the compatibility test process for your solution will begin and is handled by the RiDP support team and Ricoh compatibility test center. Developers will be responsible for sending accompanying information or files (e.g., VMWare, image files, backend server information and configuration guide, etc.) to the RiDP support team. Contact RiDP Admin (ridp-admin@ricoh-usa.com) with questions regarding this process or submitting other independent files to the support team.
When the compatibility test process is complete, developers will receive their production signed solution, attached to the original incident created by the developer. Note the following process below:
1. Submit https://ricoh-ridp.com/ridp/forms/ricoh-compatibility-testing-program-form with necessary information and documents.
2. VMware submission for test server creation in Ricoh test environment.
3. Test team works with requesters to confirm the testing scope, prepare testing and run the testing. This step usually takes 2 weeks.
4. Production signed application and testing report will be returned to the requesters on the original incident.
5. Billing information is sent to the requesters for payment.
